BRAVA! SPECIAL EVENTS & ARTS MANAGEMENT: AN INTRODUCTION
Famous for their enthusiasm and big hearts, the dynamic duo at Brava! bring you the very best in production coordination and
event management. Created in September of 2000, Brava! has since been dazzling the special events industry with their
exceptional skills in festival planning and administration, financial management, marketing, sponsorship and strategic
planning for a range of for-profit and not-for-profit groups in Ontario.
Ms. O'Connor and Ms. Clermont believe that they have an edge in event management. Both have worked as professional Stage
Managers and Event Planners. The job qualifications of a Stage Manager, like that of an Event Planner include: empathy,
intuition, a penchant for soothing bruised egos, outstanding communication and organizational skills and an ability to juggle
a multitude of details with seemingly impossible timelines and budgets.
MEET THE DYNAMIC DUO:
Jennifer O'Connor has been a professional event manager for ten years and active in her community all her life. "Stop
me before I volunteer again" is a common phrase in her house, and so far isn't working! Previously a professional Production
Stage Manager in Canada and the USA, Jennifer brings over twenty years of free-lance experience with arts organizations and
other not-for-profits at the professional level and a thorough understanding of the time, talent and sense of humour needed to
create FUN events for groups ranging in size from 20 to 60,000+. Now, the mother of two active boys, she concentrates her
professional activities closer to home and supports her children's interest in the Scouting movement as a volunteer. Jennifer
believes in healthy and creative communities. She is particularly marvelous with strategic planning, logistics and
children.
Gabrielle Clermont has been a professional event manager for over five years although her mother would tell you she has
been doing it all her life! Known for her high energy and big smile, Gabrielle got her start in corporate staging, event
planning and marketing in Toronto. She has planned events for such clients as Compaq Computers, Nike Canada and Redken.
Tiring of the corporate life and the commute, she returned to her own community to devote her skills to the not-for-profit
sector. Gabrielle is able to see the 'big picture' when planning an event and ensures that no detail is overlooked. She prides
herself on being able to create fabulous events on tight budgets and her 'old fashioned' customer service. Gabrielle believes
everyone has the ability to shine. She is outstanding at event planning and logistics and shopping.
